Lake District Windermere Lake is a beautiful picture post card stop in United Kingdom. A huge spread of water body greets you. One can walk around a small market, enjoy the buildings, admire the church and have a cruise on the water. The lake is spread for eleven miles. The first streamer in this lake was launched in 1845 and was called Lady of the lake William Words worth opposed it bitterly for he felt the natural beauty of Windermere Lake would be spoilt. This was a luxury streamer with carpets and huge mirrors and could carry 200people at a time. However, the Lady of the Lake had a short life and a fire broke down in it in 1850 and it was docked but there were many other streamers that were launched in the lake.
