Fort William

Fort William is in the shadows of Scotland's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. The second day saw us travel to this small for town and enjoy the quiet and spread of the Scottish villages enroute. We then travelled to  the pretty village of Fort Augustus, enjoying the spectacular view of Loch Ness. This lake is   24 miles long and over 700 ft deep and most famous for its sightings. It is  most famous for its stories  of the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as Nessie. The Calendoniun canal is one of the oldest in this region. Where ever the eyes see one just finds calm, quiet, serenity and a carpet of green colour. I feel just being amidst these mountains is being in a state of meditation. For those of wondering how this is possible, we are told that Ian Fleming of James Bond has purchased 85,000 hectares of land here and just left it so that it remains as it is and no construction comes up. I wish our high society people think in a similar way so that we have some green patches left in India. This is the only way we can save nature otherwise we will only have hotels and hotels mushrooming every where as has happened.
