Yosemite National Park is a world heritage site covering about 760 thousand acres of land and forests. I felt very much at home, as in the hills of Uttarakhand with the pine trees around but unlike the Himalayan forests where we, cross the forests and the mountains covered with pine trees here we had huge mountains of rocks and the trees at the base. The height at places was eight to nine thousand feet above sea level. We traveled in the car for about eight five miles with in the park. The views with clear blue sky, sparkling water, mountains with a little snow and the Oak, Fur and Pine tree lined forests were breathtaking. It was as if nature had sculpted these mountains around the park to add beauty to the environment. Breathtaking views and the vast expanse if forests at a glance added to the charm of the park. The icing on the cake was that we were able to observe the eclipse from here.
