The Hoover Dam a marvel of engineering. It is very interesting to see how the west projects and sells its self for tourism and also earns in the process. The Hoover dam generates a lot of revenue through its electricity but the amazing network created for tourism and the money it generates is also worth pondering upon. There was first a film on how the dam was constructed . The film transported us back to the year 1928 and 1930 when the dam was constructed in the years of depression and the mammoth task of changing the course of the river Colorado and creating the lake Mead. Then we could visit the turbines where electricity is generated and a bus tour to the dam site itself. All this was done by very good tour operators who explained each and every process.
