On 12th June, 2018, found myself in the Denali fiorest reserve. The Denali Forest reserve in Alaska is one of the biggest forest reserve in the world with six million acres (60 lakh acres), of forest land. There is a ninety miles road with in the forest reserve. This reserve is two hundred and forty five miles from Anchorage where we are staying and it took us about six hours by road to reach this place. The whole road trip was amazing with the spread of mountains, covered with snow in three directions. The whole terrain by its sheer magnitude reminded me of the French novelist Gustave Flaubert, who wrote that travel makes a person very modest for it makes you understand your place in the world. Mount Denali is the tallest peak in Alaska. We were in the foot hills of these mountains and the temperature was six to seven degrees Celsius and it was freezing cold, with icy winds blowing from each direction. The whole wilderness spread for miles and miles together, the awe in spiring snow covered mountains, spreading in all directions, the sheer magnitude and size of the landscape was jaw dropping. The only image that will stay with me from this trip is the wild beauty of Alaska, its wilderness, its terrain and the sheer magnitude of the snow covered peaks.
