On 9th May, 2018, had a trip to Matanuska glacier. It is very refreshing and one cannot get enough of the panoramic view that spreads in all directions. A beautiful drive with many snow covered mountains takes us to this glacier in Alaska which is twenty seven miles in length and the beauty of this glacier is that one can climb it and feel the ice. I had only read about glaciers but this was my first experience of seeing a real glacier. For thousands of years snow from the mountains has melted and collected in the valleys down below and over the years it has solidified into ice. One can feel the crunching of the ice as we walk over it and we could see snow melting and the water creating a slush. A walk of two miles filled with ice and slush took us to this glacier. Nature was spread around us in all its beauty and one could feel the icy cold wind in the bones. The grandeur of the scenic beauty was a feast to the eyes, the green forests filled with coniferous jungles, the snow covered mountains sorrounding them and acres and acres of land stretching before us had a very soothing impact and the purity and pristine beauty was indeed divine.
