The beautiful campus of the University of Hyderabad and its flora and fauna.
As a feminist historian working on South Asian history for the past forty years, I went back into the past and started thinking of my various Journeys in to life and through life. This blog would then give a peep into history and the different civilizations, cultures and the people that one comes across in this journey. I do not keep these in chronological order, but the Journey the place becomes the focus.

Temple Town Vrindavan
On 14th December, 2015, went around the city f Vrindavan. There are in all about 5000 temples in Vrindavan. Mathura boasts of 7500 temples a total of 12500.We took a rickshaw for the whole day to visit some of these. Few of these are in such narrow by lanes that a taxi cannot go through these. I saw the Vrindavan ki galiya for the first time. I found a lot of imagination being used in making these temple's. Some have glass, some are in caves, some are of marbles. We got to see all the temples associated with Krishna, the spot where he got his ball from Jamuna river, where he stole the clothes of gopees the place for Ras leela in Nidhi van which boasts of Tulsi trees that go back into the history. I saw huge cut out statues of God's and Goddess. Every temple has a bhandara and they feed many people food through out the day. The prasad was very tasty where ever we had it. It consisted of poori, aloo sabjee, kichidi and what not. Really an amazing experience though a very tiring day.
